So you’ve taken the leap and booked a boudoir shoot?! To make your experiences as seamless as possible and your images top notch, read up on our fav tips. These will help you both prepare and know exactly what to expect. Get ready for a pampering experience!
You Don't Need To Have A Vision
If you haven’t already picked out a hair and makeup look, don't worry. Your beauty team is here to make you feel like the best version of yourself and we already have a pretty good idea of what will look good in photos. That being said, if you have a special request, or allergy let us know at the beginning of your session!
Arrive on time for your appointment, so we can jump right into glamming you up! Often times, you will be going to a studio or house you’ve never been to before, so allow a buffer to find parking! Hair and makeup should take one hour to an hour and a half depending on the artist.
Go Clean & Product Free
For hair, wash it the night before (so it has time to regain its natural oils), and don’t put in any product. Try and come with your hair blow dried, or at the least it must be "bone dry" by the time of the appointment. That way, your stylist can get right to the styling! For your skin, continue your typical skin-care routine. Make sure to exfoliate that morning, so there is no dead skin. Don’t put on any products before your session except moisturizer. A clean face will hold makeup better!
Pick The Right Outfit
We recommend not wearing anything with tight straps to avoid red marks. Also, select a top that will be easy to get out of- we don't want to smudge that beautiful makeup! Or you can just bring along your favourite robe to wear while being pampered.
During The Application Speak Up.
Don’t like an element? Say something! Don’t be shy. Your artist likely wants to meet your visions and exceed your expectations.
Hope these tips helped you prepare for your beauty session before your boudoir shoot! We’re excited you are going to experience boudoir and hope you get what you were looking for out of it. Comment below if you have any questions.
